The Dragon's Eye
The gleaming light which I see Is created far beyond the angry sea Past the mountains that stretch broadly The gleaming light which I see
If I follow this little flare It would take me to a dragon's lair Without no worries, without a care I wander in without a dare
A swooping wing A sparkling thing My eyes are pierced by a blinding white sting An echo yells, but only uttering a "ding".
The dragon's eye is close to mine And very clearly I define The light I saw; "This is very fine," I whispered, and willed the beast not to dine
The dragon lifted a giant talon A claw of sorts, which I cannot count on So I turned and ran, out of the canyon To my home, on my stallion.
Sometimes at night, I can faintly see A light created past the angry sea Past mountains that stretch broadly A dragon's eye I see
