The Knight's Horse & The Dragons![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Once upon a time long past,
There once was a story the bards often told
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Of a brave mare and her adopted dragons
Who lived in days of old.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
This mare's name was Adrianne
And belonged to the knight Sir Mark.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
They were dragon slayers, ruthless for sure,
And in the service of Old King Park.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
One day they went to go and find
The greatest prize: the queen of dragons.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
They packed weapons, clothes, and warm, sweet bread
And some water in a flagon.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
They searched for many days and nights
Until at last they found her.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Sleeping, on a rock, in the warm spring sun,
Lay the queen of dragons: the great Emalire.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Sir Mark did slay the helpless queen.
Without any mercy, but much bloodlust.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
But Adrianne saw something that made her buck.
She threw her knight, and crushed him to dust.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
The troubled mare trotted over
To the great bloodied rock, in slight fear.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
She looked in a crevice and confirmed what she had saw:
Three large eggs; the heirs of Emalire.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
That day, Adrianne's heart had changed.
She pitied the eggs, on their lonely shelf.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
She then decided, from then on
To raise these dragons herself.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Tinel, Lasair, and Dearg they were;
The heirs of the dragon throne.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Adrianne loved them, and they loved her,
For she loved them as her own.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
But Adrianne grew old and sick.
Her breathes were few, for her time had come.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Her dragons wept great boiling tears;
They didn't want to farewell their mum.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Adrianne died quite peacefully
As a friend of dragons and a mother.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Her dragons mourned and wept some more.
For them, there was no other.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
So that is the story of Adrianne
And her scalely children bold.
![Space -   :space:](./images/smilies/space.gif)
Their tale is one that should never
Be forgotten and left to mold.
